Vintages Pre-Release Tasting—Veneto, Italy
Passing Scene
Thursday, 15 April 2010
Guild members gathered at DiVino Wine Studio to sample a selection of wines from the upcoming Vintages release. The tasting was led by longtime Guild member and Director Rod Story. The focus of this release was wines from Veneto, but some wines from other regions/countries were added either to provide contrast or they came highly recommended. There were eight wines from Veneto (six from the release, one from Vintages online and another from a release last October). Of the other four, two were from Italy and one was from France and the other from Tasmania. Along with the wines, four different crostini were served (smoked salmon, bruschetta, mushroom, lentil/salami) and biscotti with a Recioto.

New Zealand Wine Show—Special VIP Tasting for Guild Members
Passing Scene
Tuesday, 27 April 2010
A big thanks to Robert Ketchum and the New Zealand winemakers for offering the Guild an opportunity to meet the winemakers without the crowds! Ten winemakers joined us in a private tasting of their favourite wines prior to the show. The winemakers were available to discuss New Zealand terroir, climate, growing influences and production techniques with our group.

Special offers to (and from) Guild members!

The National Capital Sommelier Guild strongly supports moderate and responsible consumption of wine and spirits. Guild dinner events allow a designated driver to attend at a reduced price. The designated driver will not be served alcohol. Guild tasting events provide and encourage the use of spit buckets.
