The Canada Dance Festival will hold a “Fine Wine Evening” on Wednesday, 5 March 2008 at the Hampton Inn Ottawa & Conference Centre, 200 Coventry Road. Proceeds from the event will be shared by the Canada Dance Festival and the Ottawa Public Library Foundation. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a reception featuring fine wines, gourmet food, music, and culinary demos by Ottawa’s finest chefs.
During the evening there will be live and silent auctions of fine and rare wines, wine-themed packages and luxury getaways. The exciting live auction, of fine and rare wines, will feature exceptional lots, many from private cellars, to suit all tastes and budgets. Tony Aspler, one of the most widely respected wine writers in Canada, will be the auctioneer, and will be assisted by a number of wine celebrities.
After the reception, author and CBC broadcaster Konrad Ejbich will give a passionate introduction to the art of wine appreciation and answer questions from the audience. Following the live auction, guests will enjoy liqueurs, desserts, jazz, and mingling. Tickets are $50 each ($30 of ticket price can be applied towards purchase of wine items in Silent and Live Auctions).
