Colio Estates Winemaker’s Tasting Print
Thursday, 8 May 2008, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Chelsea Club, 236 Metcalfe (at Somerset)

Colio Estate WinesGuild Governor Gord Weber has arranged for a premium tasting of Colio Estate wines.

Join Colio Winemaker Tim Reilly as he leads you through a lineup of the best the Lake Erie North Shore wine region can produce. The wines will include selections from both Colio’s CEV reserve wines and Signature premium reserve wines. There will be several vertical tastings comparing Coilos library wines with current vintages.

Winemaker Tim Reilly has chosen the fourteen wines below to demonstrate the unique characteristics that distinguish this warmer region from Niagara.
  • 2006 CEV Sauvignon Blanc
  • 2006 CEV Sauvignon Blanc - Both from Colio vineyards but demonstrate differences of yeast selection and fermentation temperature.
  • 2006 CEV Pinot Grigio
  • 2007 CEV Pinot Grigio - Both from the same vineyard, same yeast , but this grape is greatly influenced by the season.
  • 2002 CEV Merlot Reserve
  • 2005 CEV Merlot Reserve - Both had very good years and show the LENS character
  • 2002 Cabernet Franc
  • 2005 Cabernet Franc - Good years, that show why we don't do a reserve every year.
  • Signature Meritage 2002
  • Signature Merlot 2002
  • Signature Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 - All premium quality wines that have a bit of a story
  • CEV Six Barrel Shiraz Reserve 2006 – Shows the benefits of the warmer climate
  • CEV Meritage Reserve 2006
  • CEV Merlot Reserve 2006
