The new Board and their responsibilities are as follows:
  • Jay Hunt – President, Epicurean Awards, Algonquin Recruiting
  • Martin Carrière – Vice President
  • Bert Riverso – Treasurer
  • Mark Kilpatrick – Secretary, Wine Person of the Year
  • Rutha Astravas – Communications
  • Robert White – Memberships
  • Bill Ellis – Guild Historian
  • Joe Hatz – Scholarships
  • Maureen Murphy – Calendar of Events
  • Pierre Fournier – Director at Large
  • Antonio Mauriello – Director at Large
As per the decision made at the 2008 AGM, Board members will have a two year term in order to ensure some corporate memory on the Board from year to year. At the most recent Guild board meeting, the terms of the board members were decided as follows:

Don't Drink and DrinkThe National Capital Sommelier Guild strongly supports moderate and responsible consumption of wine and spirits. Guild dinner events allow a designated driver to attend at a reduced price. The designated driver will not be served alcohol. Guild tasting events provide and encourage the use of spit buckets.
