Remarkable Riesling Print
Wednesday, 10 June 2009, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
DiVino Wine Studio, 225 Preston St. (North of Gladstone)

Fans of Riesling and those looking to better appreciate this remarkable grape, we have a once in a lifetime event! Guild Director Robert White has raided his cellar and put together an outstanding line-up of 13 Rieslings that will tantalize the senses. Mature Rieslings are sought the word over as one of the few white wines that increase in quality as they age. After tempting our palates with three Ontario gems from Niagara and Prince Edward County (see if you can distinguish between them) we will move quickly to Germany and experience wines from the Mosel, Rheingau, and Franken regions.

Highlights will include a mini-vertical from the 2002, 2003, and 2004 vintages of the same producer and Rieslings from the 1990’s. This includes a 1998 from Bernkastel, an area which some consider to produce the best Rieslings in the world. As an added bonus, Robert will be presenting a slideshow of some of the wine growing areas of Germany taken while attending the German Wine Academy.

Members & Sponsored Guests: $45 (all surcharges and taxes included)
