Our Members

The Guild welcomes members of all levels, from students and wine lovers to Masters of Wine. Members share a common appreciation of fine wines and wine service and are especially keen to discover fine wines and spirits that offer great value for money.

The Guild is dedicated to the notion that a broader and deeper knowledge of wines and their enhancement of fine foods, leads to better satisfied consumers and profits all those producing and selling wine products. Through its program the Guild helps expand the wine knowledge of consumers and professionals alike and helps provide those in the trade with a multitude of opportunities to sharpen their skills and enhance their business.

Members of the Guild have a genuine interest in wines and spirits from all parts of the world, from the European classics to the rising stars of the New World and of Canada in particular. To promote excellence in Canadian winemaking the Guild sponsored in the past two awards recognizing Ontario's Best Limited Edition Red and White wines as judged by Ontario winemakers at the annual Cuvée event.

Recognising that fine wines are made to enhance the dining experience, we work hard at each of our events to go beyond the conventional in order to discover unusual but interesting wine and food combinations.

Members participate in Guild events in order to learn and we strive to make each event a pleasant experience. We know they will be if we enjoy these wonderful beverages in a responsible way. After all Moderation is a sign of good taste.
